STUDY OPPORTUNITY: Families of preterm-born children – especially those affected by Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) – often face challenges that go far beyond the NICU stay. Many parents describe years of follow-up appointments, ongoing respiratory issues, worries about development, and the emotional weight of caring for a sick child. And yet, their voices are still far too rarely heard in research. Our partners at the Global Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants are conducting a large online survey to better understand how BPD shapes everyday life, family well-being, and long-term outcomes. Our goal is simple but very important: to make sure these families are finally seen, heard, and understood – not only in Europe, but also across the United States.
