Here in our Hand to Hold community, we are shining a light on Black Maternal Mental Health Week: July 19–25, 2025 Black mothers often face higher risks for pregnancy and postpartum complications, as well as barriers to mental health care. These challenges can feel even more overwhelming when a baby requires NICU care or when a parent has experienced trauma or loss. 🖤 If you’re a Black mom or birthing parent, we want you to know that your story matters. Your mental health matters. You deserve compassionate care and support. If you’d like to talk, connect, or simply be heard, with fellow Black NICU families you can: ✨ Join one of our weekly Black NICU families virtual support groups (Tuesdays & Fridays, 1pm CST, check our calendar to register) ✨ Request a peer mentor or DM our Virtual Family Support Specialist anytime. 💬 If you’d like to, feel free to share in the comments: What has helped you care for your own mental health during or after your NICU journey? Or simply drop an emoji 💛💪🏾🌸 to show solidarity and support. We see you. We stand with you. You are not alone.
